This is at the heart of what I do – I really love babies, but until I had my own, I had no idea of the pressures new parents are under, physically, mentally and emotionally. I try to bring a little joy to their week by giving them a class with some bonding/play time with baby (aka baby yoga) but that is wholeheartedly designed around the mums. If baby sleeps through the whole class, they don’t feel like a spare part. I want to know mums name, their highlights and their struggles, to share in a safe space without judgements.

With postnatal care not being great in the UK, I am aware that as a postnatal yoga teacher I might be the first person they open up to about struggles physically. My classes help with guided breathing for recovery, safe postnatal strength and stretches and that much needed relaxation (however that might look now)."
