One of the biggest surprises for many people is not the yoga. It’s the other women in the room.

The midwives were excellent in guiding my pushing and I didn’t tear as a result. We had immediate skin to skin and delayed cord clamping. We kept her on skin to skin for a few hours afterwards and my placenta passed well without the injection.

The birth felt truly like something that belonged to me, my husband and our girl, rather than something that had happened to us.
